Following industry consultation during June and July in response to the proposed AD in May, today CASA have released the final Airworthiness Directive DH82-018 "Inspection of Wooden Structure".
The Antiquers were heavily involved in the revision of the proposed AD with CASA spending valuable time with a number of our most experienced and respected Tiger Moth restorers, maintainers and operators and concluded with a workshop in Brisbane in mid July where the details of the final revision were negotiated.
We believe the final revision of this AD, including compliance requirements, achieves the safety outcomes that CASA were seeking whilst minimizing impact to owners/operators where possible, particularly those not engaged in commercial operations.
